Inkyphat detected, but not updating

I am running a clean Raspian install on a PiZero(WH). Using the new inky library. When I run any of the examples, it says it detects my Yellow pHAT (SSD1608), but nothing on the screen changes. It just remains on the inkyphat logo that was on it when it arrived.

Ran checks to make sure it is seated properly as well as all required libraries are installed…

Have been using the tutorial on the Pimoroni site:
learn /tutorial/sandyj/getting-started-with-inky-phat

Have tried the clean.py as well as name badge using the following command:

python3 name-badge.py --type “auto” --colour “yellow” --name “test”

At this point, I am not sure what else I can do to make this work. Close to tossing it because shipping it back to UK would cost as much as the actual device.

Any assistance you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Also should have stated - have tested on PiZero(WH), Pi 3b and a 4 - all with same results.

Sooo, guessing this thing is just damaged and should be tossed???

Great customer support - it is in the trash and I have ordered a Waveshare brand replacement… Waste of $24. If you are reading this, save yourself and look at other brands.
