Keyboard control for Unicorn pHAT?

Hi! I am slowly, sloooooowwwwllyyy working on a Unicorn pHAT-based busy status light, and I keep simplifying the project further and further, and now what I am trying to do is connect a keyboard (or, more specifically, a Keybow Mini on another Pi Zero) to the light with a USB cable and push buttons to change colors.

However! My understanding of the Unicorn code and indeed all of Python is still shaky, so I was wondering if anyone had previously set up keyboard control for the pHAT and could point me to some examples or guides! Thanks!!!

This may help you get started.

You’ll have to adapt it somewhat. Set the keybow buttons up to send specific key presses, then set the Unicorn / Pi up to look for and act on those key presses.
I tried something similar with mixed results.
