Lipo Amigo pro is always powered on

On my Lipo Amigo Pro, as soon as I plug a lipo battery into the BAT jst socket, with no device attached, the ON led lights up.

Pressing the PWR button makes no difference and I cannot turn it off.

When I then wired a ESP32-S3 to the VDEV and ‘-’ outputs then, once again, the ESP32 is always powered on, despite me pressing the PWR button.

What am I misunderstanding here, please?

I assume you did not solder any of the optional connectors, right? If not, this behavior is not expected. Please also check the polarity of your LiPo.

Thank you very much for your swift help.

I have checked the polarity is good. I have got nothing else soldered to the Lipo Amigo board apart from the VDEV and ‘-’

It also exhibited the same always on state when it was new, before I had soldered anything to it.

Looks fine. Write to support and ask for a replacement, linking to this thread.

You could also measure the resistance across the button respective the voltages. One side should be high, the other low. If it is only the button that is defective, you could try to remove it and use the connector (“SW”). But I don’t think chances are high that the button is the culprit.
