Mood Light - USB Issue

I’m having issues with the Pi zero w not detecting the USB input.
Here are the error codes I get upon startup:
[1.473049] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[1.803047] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[2.343025] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[2.673209] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71

It seems similar to this post: Pi-zero w unable to enumerate USB device

What USB devices/adaptors are you attempting to use? Do you see any other messages in dmesg, anything in lsusb?

I’m using the adapters from the mood light kit. I’ve tried it with wireless mice, wired mice, and a keyboard/trackpad wireless all-in-one.
I haven’t seen anything else on the screen, and I can’t get it working to interact with it. Where would I see messages from dmesg/lsusb?

I’m going to hazard a guess that the USB adaptor is kaput, it happens occasionally. It could also be a power issue, though, what power supply are you using?

I’m using a 5.25V 2400mA power adapter

Looks fairly legit and has a captive cable- I suspect it’s the adaptor itself, you should drop an email to support@pimoroni.com, link this thread, and ask for a replacement.
