I was wondering if there was any particular reason for layer 1 in the A+ pibow. I’ve found mine seems to fit fine without it, in fact it sits a little more level in the case than when I include the layer. Is it there to provide a larger area under the board for heat or something?
I think it’s luck of the draw- the tabs on the bottom of the USB connector stand way too proud for me to drop layer 1 on mine… oh and then there’s all the stuff I soldered onto the bottom too!
Heat is definitely not a problem- so if you can fit the A+ without layer 1, and it looks good, go for it!
