I’m trying to figure out the best/right way to combine a Pico 2W with the Pimoroni Display Pack and either the Lipo Shim or the Lipo Amigo.
I have a Pico 2 with headers already soldered, is it possible to use that with the Lipo Shim? Or should I instead start with a non-header version, and solder the Lipo Shim and a set of headers, then add the Display Pack?
The goal is to have something as compact as possible, using the Pico with the Display Pack, but also being self-powered. The Lipo Amigo also looks appealing, but maybe that’s better for a more open-ended project (a more open layout), i.e. the Lipo Shim might be more appropriate since it aligns nicely with the Pico itself?

And it now has a Display Pack attached. Plug you battery in before you add your display pack. ;)
Interesting solution; thanks. So it sounds like yes, I should start w/ a Pico that doesn’t have headers already attached?
And yeah, saw the Lipo 2 but I need Wi-Fi and BT for this particular project. Fingers crossed for a future version that includes all of it.
Mine had the headers already soldered on. I then removed the black plastic base part on the ones the lipo shim uses. Slid it on and then soldered it in place. The tricky part is keeping the pins lined up when you solder the lipo shim. They are going to move if you don’t have something on them to hold them in place. I had some spare bits of the black base part that I slid over the other end while I did the final soldering on the lipo shim.
The Lipo 2 has the SP/CE connector for the RM2 module. I ordered those as well as the cables, as I want to use WIFI with mine. I have one all setup and running.
There is also the extra long version with WIFI onboard.
