PicoVision 2350

Just a quick flyby musing.

Could we see a 2350 updated version of the PicoVision with the new shiny Pico2 chips?

Cheers

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking ahead to what I might buy come Christmas.
But can it play Doom, :P Couldn’t resist. =)
A dual RP2350B would be awesome. Even just one with 16MB of QSPI flash and 8MB of PSRAM. And a Pico 2 onboard.

I think the Pico2 chips at least on paper (with my village idiot understanding of such things - ha) could do very well on a PicoVision type set up.

Though the Pi Foundation standard model of Pico2 have not yet gone PicoW2.

I’ve not tried running doom on it, I didn’t get the accessory pack. Therefore don’t have the cabling.

Hoping someone from Pimoroni themselves might respond. 🤞

I’m thinking it will be “Best Sellers” first, then trickle down to other products, RP2350 upgrade wise.

You’re probably correct there, Alpha.

I also noticed that with the new Pico2 Explorer that the rp2350 chip is actually ‘baked’ onto the board. As opposed to those header sockets with the vice like grip on the original explorer. Or the whole pico itself soldered on.

It’ll be interesting to observe as the 2350 product line develops. I haven’t played with a Pico2 yet, the RISC-V cores might be interesting. This whole pin pull up issue has put me off so far, tbh.

I have a couple of Pico 2’s that I’m tinkering with. And Phil Howard @gadgetoid fixed me up with Pico 2 Plus, Plasma 2350, Tiny2350 and a PGA2350. I’ve helped him out in the past testing code and new hardware.
The only issue I’ve had, pull up wise, was swapping a Pico 2 in for a Pico on my custom dual Display Pack setup. I had to add 10k pullups to the CS pins to get the second display to work. This likely isn’t related to the other pull up issue, but it’s something that gave me grief until I figured out what was up, or not up. ;)

There are Pico Graphics updates / changes happening. That as near as I can tell are likely Pico 2 related.
