Internet Radio on your Pirate Radio:

I have followed the steps in the link above. I have added the internet radio links using the link: http://www.suppertime.co.uk/blogmywiki/2015/04/updated-list-of-bbc-network-radio-urls/

However, the station (BBC RADIO 2) plays alright. Then all of the sudden it will stop playing for no reason. The raspberry pi is connected with the wifi…

Then I have to reboot it again and then it works and after few minutes it stops again. It is very frustrating.

Can anyone help please!

How long, approximately, does it play for? There seem to be a few people on the forums reporting similar things at the moment.

If you run: lsb_release -sc in a terminal on your Pi, what does it say?

I occasionally have stations just stop. No sound and VU meter freezes. If I press the play pause button they usually start again. If it happens again with that channel I just switch channels. Doesn’t happen all the time for me, seems random. Mine aren’t BBC Radio though, classic rock stations.

EDIT: forgot to mention, I’m still on Jessie.

I’d dare say the easiest short-term solution is to switch back to Jessie Lite until we can figure out what’s going awry in Stretch. You can get the image here:

It works beautifully now. No complains!! After downloading the image from - https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_lite/images/raspbian_lite-2017-07-05/2017-07-05-raspbian-jessie-lite.zip

I think the problem lies with ‘stretch’

I’ve posted an update with a config that works for me on Jessie. Nothing has changed in Pi VU Meter, but the troublesome dmix plugin has been dropped. See:
