Would the Playstation DualShock 4 Controller work ok alongside the PiCade (Latest updates & a Pi 3) and allow me to play such things as Afterburner (Analogue stick required it seems)?

Your mileage may vary with Bluetooth, though!

Thanks, totally missed that section of the Wiki!
The reason I asked about the PS4 controller was that all four USB ports on the Pi are full and I knew they used Bluetooth but now you mention the results might not be so good I am not as eager!
Have you folks there done any of your own tests with Bluetooth controllers?
