Ok, then its not that. I asked because people often use what they have on hand, which sometimes is a “charger” not a Power Supply. Chargers often don’t provide a stable +5V under load.
I removed the pcie cable and the system will reboot.
Are you sure the cable is the right way around, as it is in the images on the product page? There’s obviously something not right about the board. What about if you have the Base connected but without the NVME drive?
When the system leds didn’t light up, Worrying about a short circuit or damage to the rpi, I paniced and pulled the flat cable out. In doing so, the
retention clip popped off.
Today I reset the flat ribbon cable, with the popped off retention clip, which took many attempts, but once seated and powered up the sysetm boots up.
I’ll report later after some usage if the 2TB 990 Samsung Pro NVMe SSD functions reliably.
