Scroll Hat Mini Shutdowns Pi

I just pulled out my Scroll Hat Mini and am trying to attach to the GPIO pins for my Pi5. Now, any time I plug in the Scroll Hat to my Pi5 it shuts down Imminently maybe as if there is not enough power? I am also using a Pi5 Power Supply.

Though I do also want to mention that my Pi is in a Pironman Case. I just wanted to add a little flare to this Case with the Scroll Hat Mini. I’m thinking maybe with this case the power is too much when adding the Scroll Hat Mini?

Are you plugging it in with the Pi powered up? If yes, that is a bad idea!. Plug the Hat in while the Pi is off and the Power Supply is unplugged. Then power up the Pi.

Ahh well that is definitely where I went wrong. I never unplugged power supply from Pi before connecting Hat. It was shutdown, ended up trying a couple different ways of trying to get hat to work. Thanks for that I got it working now!
