Folks,
With the amount of GPIO pins on the Pi a fair bit of pressure is required to attach. Other than with obvious care is there a recommended method of removal?

I kind or rock mine back and forth. I lift one end a little bit, then the other, etc. My big fear is bending the pins on the Pi if one end comes off first and the hat tilts to one side while still partially attached.
My best advice is take your time and do it carefully.

I bend them sometimes. And then bend them back carefully.
