Hyperpixel 4.0 touchscreen with ribbon cable

Hi-

This may be a silly question but with the HyperPixel 4, can I connect my Raspberry Pi 4 to it via a ribbon cable (and gpio pins for power) instead of connecting via the GPIO pins?

I ask primarily because the product description and getting started guide only address connecting via the GPIO pins, although I see a port for a ribbon cable.

Thank you,
Max

I think you’ll find that the ribbon cable “port” is the connector for the onboard LCD panel to the main circuit board. There is a smaller ribbon port higher up that is used for the touch panel connection.

So, GPIO only I’m afraid.

The Hyperpixel needs almost all GPIO pins. See https://pinout.xyz

I did use the Hyperpixel with a ribbon-cable from the Pi - 40-pin-cable - Hyperpixel, but I don’t think that is what you want.
