Can Pico Enviro+ have holes on the 4 sides of the board in future releases? It is hard to mount it to anything, because it has nothing to hold on to. It would be nice if it had holes on the sides, like Pico does. So it can be mounted (with some screws or even just some wire) to something.
Also would it damage anything if I drilled holes with small drill, very delicately, on the sides of the current board?
It’s hard to be sure without the PCB design files, but from the shop photos it does look like there are traces which run close to those corners, so it would probably break something.
Is there no way you can screw the Pico board (if you’re using an official Pico) to whatever you’re mounting it to, and then attach the enviro? I know it would be better to have the enviro secured as well, but it would be better than nothing.
I wanted to expose on the outside the sensors and screen that are on Enviro+, so I wanted to mount that piece. I would have to have something inside, that Pico would attach to if I were to attach Pico. Not sure you know what I mean - I mean just a box where Enviro+ is on the outside with sensors and all. Then inside there are other sensors, the box is half open. But maybe I’ll figure sth out. I could glue it perhaps. Not ideal but what to do.
