Did you hear the actual “front right” “front left” come out of the respective speakers?
No sound at all. I have tested with meter and I get 4.9 give or take .2
Just today I did a fresh install of full Stretch. Set keyboard, local, WIFI etc.
Did the sudo apt-get update upgrade.
Ran the one line installer for VLC radio on the pHat Beat. curl https://get.pimoroni.com/vlcradio | bash
All done on a Pi Zero W with no pHat Beat attached. Set Raspbian to boot to CLI and shut down.
Swapped my card over to my Pi Zero with the pHat Beat on it and booted it up.
Sound was at max volume, but no pops or clicks when changing channels. One happy camper here now. =)
Time to make a new image for backup. ;)
Maybe try one more time with a full install of Stretch? The failed install issue I had in the past seems to be fixed now. If it still doesn’t work after that I’d get a replacement. If its not past 30 days of receiving it.
I acquired a usb speaker and it works fine. I knew it was working though because the web interface was active. The usb speaker is very loud. So my conclusion is that the software works fine and I have messed up the speaker connection. This is kind of exciting!
