Replacement for pidrive from wdlabs?

#1

Now that Western Digital has shut down WDLabs and no longer sells the PiDrive, are there any other similar products? If there isn’t, would Pimoroni consider creating something similar?

Things I liked about the PiDrive:

  • Small hard disk with sizes ranging from 375GB on up for a very reasonable price point

  • USB powered

  • Y- cable for shared power from one USB source

  • Small cases for the drives, or combinations of the drive plus a Pi

I wish we would- but it’s one of those things where the cost of development versus potential market equation might be slightly wonky so it’s just not worth persuing. I use a PiDrive at home and in the office as my main development Pi, so I totally appreciate their worth!
