Unicorn PHat on Windows IOT Core

Hi everyone,

I would like to use the Unicorn Phat on my Raspberry Pi 3B with Windows IOT Core (on an UWP app).

But I have not find any solution for this.

Some I am here to get some help to :

  • Find someone that already did it
  • Find any documentation to write my own driver
  • Or any other kind of help

Thank you very much and have a good day !

I haven’t touched Windows 10 IoT in a long long time so I won’t be much help with that.
One way to maybe get there is to do a search for the LED’s used, the SK6218’s. Then figure out how to address them etc.

I don’t think Microsoft permit the sort of hardware access required to get Unicorn pHAT up and running. Although there appear to be some people getting WS281x LEDs to work over SPI.

I found this repository, but I can’t say I really understand it: https://github.com/gera-k/gnkspi

Since the SPI hardware isn’t present on the PWM pin that Unicorn pHAT uses you’d have to creatively rewire the pHAT too.

You definitely have me at a disadvantage with respect to IoT Core.

Microsoft have thier own forum for IoT, might be worth having a look around there.
