Configuring my raspberry pi to picade buttons and joystick

Hi after managing to uncomment n configuration I’ve managed to get my raspberry pi to boot up with my picade but I can’t seem to be able to map the buttons and joystick to th pi I’m getting the message ‘no gamepads detected’ ‘hold a button on your device to configure it’ press f4 to quit at anytime’

I’ve tried holding down any button on my picade but with no response, anyone no how to sort this out?

are you referring to the picade pcb or hat?

either way, with a keyboard hooked up, hit F4, then, at the command line:

lsusb

as well as showkey and bash the buttons to see if you get any response.
