Have I got a faulty bonnet?

Hope someone can help and I am posting in the correct channel.

I am attempting to build GitHub - ColinWaddell/FlightTracker: Raspberry Pi flight tracker with a dot matrix display that shows real-time overhead aircraft info using FlightRadar24 (or a local ADS-B setup) with custom animations · GitHub but when testing the RGB 64 x 32 panel with a adafruit test example (the volume increasing and decreasing) only the top half of the panel lights up. When I touch the ribbon cable the bottom half then does the same as the top half of the panel. I am running the pi 3 latest model with a 5v 8amp power supply and also attempted normal pi 5v powering just the pi and separate power supply to the panel but nothing seems to work without me , touching the ribbon cable. I can’t upload a video here , so might have to find another way to show what is happening.

Hope someone has had a similar issue and can assist.
Thanks!

Pimoroni are just a reseller for Adafruit. Your best bet is to post your issue on the Adafruit Forum. I do believe Adafruit will be the one who does a refund or replacement.
