How about a <decent> case for NVMe and Active cooler?

I was very disappointed to learn here that the best I can hope for is a cheesy multi-layer acrylic case for what would arguably be a better RPi than the 5 Pi4s I have that are tucked into nice stylish FLIRC aluminium cases (one of them a snazzy Kodi box) and a Pi3 in its Flirc case running Octopi.

The advantages of a base over a hat in this instance in terms of airflow are clear, so I’m sure there would be good takeup for a more professional-looking case if it were available. It might even provide more of an incentive for users to buy the base in preference to the hat!

Great news! Can I sign up to be notified?

Thanks!

Sure - if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there’s a ‘subscribe for updates’ box that will sign you up to our newsletter: https://shop.pimoroni.com/

It’s been a few months now. Any news on this project?

Still progressing - I think we’ve just about finalised the case now and are now working on finalising the fixings/bolt pack.

2 months on from the last post.
Has this case managed to come to fruition yet?
Still searching for a solution.
Thanks

Still working on it, no ETA to share yet I’m afraid.

TWO MONTHS? How seriously do you expect us to take you? Why on EARTH should we buy any more of your products?

Sorry that it’s taking a while - we’ve been using a new to us manufacturing process for these which has involved a lot of iterations and back and forth with the factory. It’s progressing, though (we’re sending them some fresh design files this week) and I’ve been making sure to bring it up in our weekly dev meeting so it gets kept on our radar.

You’re very welcome to source a case elsewhere if you wish - there’s quite a selection of nice 3D printable options available now: https://www.printables.com/search/models?q=nvme+base

@hel: thanks, that is a great link and I am tempted to print one of those designs. At least it stopped me from thinking about doing an own design 🤔️😀️
