Modifying Coupe 5 case to fit Pi5 + NVME base

I am using the Coupe5 case with a pi5 and the waveshare POE hat. I needed to buy some 25mm m3 bolts with some extra nuts, but here is how the case is for now until the official Coupe5 case with support for the NVME base comes out. In order for the waveshare POE hat to sit flat, I needed to remove the topmost layer otherwise the piece of acrylic around the ethernet jacks interferes with a component of the POE hat. I may try to cut the acrylic in the future, but I didn’t want to ruin it.

Hey! Thanks for posting this, can you link the “25mm m3 bolts with some extra nuts” you bought to get the base to fit? Thank you!

I thinking they were likely these,
Pibow extender bolt pack
Unfortunately, they are now discontinued. =( I so wish they would reconsider that.

I’ve got some of the long bolts left - if anyone needs me to try and sneak a few into an order drop us an email to support@pimoroni.com with the order number :)

I’ll likely be taking you up on that offer. Might be a few weeks before I order something though. Right now there is more month left at the end of the money. I’m also waiting to see if the Compute Module 5 gets released.

I ended up finding the nylon bolts at my local hardware store because they weren’t available to purchase here.

I covered modifying this case to fit the NVMe base with a similar method on my YouTube channel for anyone who would like a step by step guide.

Hope you find it helpful.
